When can I see drift ice?+
Drift ice is a natural phenomenon, so timing and visibility cannot be guaranteed. Check official updates before departure and leave room for an alternative activity.
Should I base myself in Abashiri or Utoro?+
Abashiri is better for a comfortable ship-based experience; Utoro suits a day of hands-on drift-ice walking. Choose with your group, energy and winter-driving confidence in mind.
